I was going to write about feeling shitty in a light-hearted, self deprecating way but I figure I’ll just lay it out like how it feels. Not feeling the best lately… I hate when my sleep’s screwed up, but what I hate the most is having to defend myself to everyone. I. feel. like. shit. all. the. time. I’m sorry, I wish I could be happier, more balanced, more successful, stronger…. but I’m not, and everyone, including me is going to have to live with it. I’m tired of putting on a happy face and saying everything is fine, or worse, feeling ashamed and weak when I tell the truth. Why does everyone seem so capable and happy all the time when I feel like I’m swimming uphill through mud? As soon as I get a grip on things, I slip and drop further than I was before.
I’m trying to decide whether I’m really weak or being too hard on myself. Part of me feels like the sissy I’ve always thought I’ve been and part of me knows this isn’t normal, because life shouldn’t be this difficult all the time.
